If only more bars were like this: pay a flat ¥3,000 on the door and you'll get unlimited access to a vast selection of sake, complete with true rarities and innovative creations by up-and-coming brewers from all across the country. Relying on his extensive experience, the owner chooses every single bottle himself, so you're sure to get only the good stuff. Those less than enamoured with Japan's signature booze can opt for shochu, umeshu or beer, although swigging a Sapporo here feels almost blasphemous, considering the alternatives. Although no food is served, you're more than welcome to bring your own – there's even a freely usable microwave and stove in the corner – and grub deliveries are acceptable as well.
