Takabisha: World's steepest roller coaster

Tokyo welcomes the world's steepest roller coaster

Takabisha: World's steepest roller coaster

Takabisha is the world's steepest roller coaster, and it opens at Fuji-Q Highland near Tokyo on July 16. The coaster, which covers two miles of track in less than two minutes, officially breaks records when the carriage falls from a height of 141 metres at an angle of 121 degrees. Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records were called in last week to verify that Takabisha (meaning 'dominant in English) is indeed a world record breaker. Since the confirmation, a collection of video clips have begun to appear on the internet, some of which we've gathered here.

While Takabisha is the world's steepest roller coaster, it failed to break the record for speed. The world's fastest roller coaster is Formula Rossa, which opened in 2010 at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi (scroll down for a clip of that).
