Sonicmania: the indie dance one

Given how tough life is for promoters at the moment, you'd think that Creativeman would do everything possible to ensure good attendance at this year's Summer Sonic. Instead, they're splitting the vote with an all-night party at Makuhari Messe the day before. Oh well.

The lineup

A-Trak, Autokratz, Boom Boom Satellites, Chase and Status, Jamaica, Primal Scream, South Central, Underworld, Vitalic…

The verdict

It's dance music for rock kids, really, but the '90s double-whammy of Underworld and Primal Scream performing Screamadelica will be too tempting for some. We can even sort of forgive the fact that it's at Makuhari Messe: all-nighters work better here than festivals do.
