Coinciding with Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival), Tokyo Joshi Project will hold an exhibit entitled Why Don’t You Pink, opening on March 3. Items ranging from calligraphy sets to iPhones will be colored pink by 33 different artists, highlighting items of a female bent through the centuries.
Look out for a variety of workshops held throughout the exhibition period, including lessons on calligraphy (led by Megumi Hioki), as well as bag design and iPhone decoration. While pink brushes and iPhone bling might not paint a picture perfect future for feminism, the exhibition’s concept and hands-on crafts are actually worth a peep..
