What You Waiting For

Artist: Franz Ferdinand
Available on: Officially unreleased
Time Out says: Following on from 'Harajuku Girls', Franz Ferdinand covered Gwen Stefani's 'What You Waiting For' at a BBC radio session, spinning the track out into a chorus of Billy Idol's 'White Wedding'. Stefani has said that the line, 'Harajuku Girls, damn you got some wicked style', triggered the idea of running Harajuku as a theme throughout the song's parent album. The song also pays cynical tribute to the notion of Japan being a place to instantly expand your fan-base. This one we like.
