The exhausting summer heat is finally receding, opening up opportunities for alfresco dining in the cozy early-autumn breeze. Roppongi's Grand Hyatt is offering one option in September and October, inviting you to head over to the hotel's secret-ish terrace area for this pop-up themed on '60s and '70s Americana (think drive-in movies and jukeboxes). On Thursday and Friday evenings from September 11 on, the fourth-floor Chapel Garden will be transformed into a flashy diner serving classic American snacks and free-flowing beverages like Budweiser, Jim Beam and soda pop, all to a soundtrack of appropriately old-school tunes. ¥6,000 gets you an ample assortment of appetisers plus all-you-can-drink booze, while à la carte options are also available.
