Held in over 80 countries on the second Saturday of May each year, World Fair Trade Day celebrates and promotes the Fair Trade brand, global trade justice and awareness of trade issues through a variety of events, including tastings, concerts and fashion shows. The Tokyo edition of WFTD sees Jiyugaoka's People Tree put on this Shinjuku market, where socially conscious retailers show off their wares and visitors can shop for everything from clothing to candy. For a more hands-on experience of fair trade, head to Ikejiri's IID for the EFC Open Campus and its multitudinous workshops.
