Cinco de Mayo 2015

Held annually in the US to commemorate Mexico's historic victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, the Cinco de Mayo Festival will be heading to Tokyo again this year – though, as usual, it's arriving a couple of days ahead of schedule. Just like last year, the mariachi bands, rockabillies, tequila bars and Tex-Mex food stands will be complemented by non-Mexican gourmet and music contributions from more than ten countries, including Canada, Chile and Argentina – none of which have the clout to put on Yoyogi Park festivals of their own, we presume. If you're only going to watch one show, we recommend Peruvian songbird and actress Maricarmen Marin.
