Opened in October 2014, this new Kagurazaka landmark plays a handful of different roles, including those of street fashion heaven, bookstore and café. The La Kagu building, designed by Kengo Kuma and Associates, is built around a 1965 storage facility that's been carefully revamped while maintaining its Showa-era charm. Entering through the ground-floor doors, shoppers can lay eyes on women's clothing from brands like Acne, Maison Martin Margiela and Marni, or enjoy a light lunch around the long wooden tables. The second floor houses men's fashion, Nordic vintage furniture and around 3,000 books, all available for purchase. Make sure to check out their website for event information – happenings like farmers' markets, lectures and other events are held regularly, both inside the building and on the comfy outdoor terrace.
