Review

East of Tsurugaoka Hachiman-Gu, beyond Kamakura's oldest temple Sugimoto-dera, is lovely Hokoku-ji, known as the ‘bamboo temple’ for its extensive grove of giant bamboo. Sit and contemplate while sipping whisked green tea, before making the short walk to the Shakado tunnel.
