Eisho-ji

Museums & Attractions

Review

Kamakura has more than enough temples and shrines to choose from, but if you want to see something a little bit different, wander west from the Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura, and you'll find Eisho-ji – the only active Buddhist nunnery in Kamakura. The temple allows access to parts of its grounds, as does nearby Jufuku-ji, reached by a long, maple-lined approach.
