An attractively converted old family house provides the setting for this intimate Asakusa hostel, opened in March 2012 by a backpacking owner who dreamed of 'travelling with her whole house'. With just two dorms (from ¥2,600 per night), it's one of Tokyo's smallest budget hostels, and the décor – including a small lounge area, also open to non-guests, that looks more like a trendy Balinese café – make it one of the more agreeable too. The facilities include a shared kitchen, WiFi and computer access, and while there's no curfew, the shower and bath are only available until midnight. Cheap, Japanese-style breakfasts (usually ¥300) come as an extra bonus.
