Aiming to be a hub for budget travellers looking to explore Akihabara, Grids is both a hostel and a café/bar open to the public. The facilities are decorated in faux-traditional style, with the simplicity more indicative of budget constraints than a unified vision, but the dorms are spacious, clean and reasonably priced: ¥3,300 gets you a bed for the night, while the family rooms (up to four guests) are almost as cheap at ¥3,600 per person. If access to not only Akihabara but also the Nihonbashi and Marunouchi areas is a major concern for you, this one is worth a punt.
Open April 21
