Review

This museum takes to extremes the maxim ‘learning by doing’. The unique five-spoke building, in a corner of Kitanomaru Park, consists of five floors of interactive exhibits. Its drab, dated entrance belies the fun displays inside. Children can learn the rudiments of scientific principles while standing inside a huge soap bubble, lifting a small car using pulleys and generating electricity by shouting. There’s not a lot of English used, but much of the interaction does not need translation.
