Located in a park out in Chiba's Sakura City, this museum and research centre presents Japanese history through five permanent exhibitions and 25 topics, focusing on the history of everyday life among the common people. As such, it is a must-visit for all history buffs looking get some deeper insight into life on the Japanese islands from ancient times to the modern era. The collection of more than 200,000 items includes everything from Jomon-era artefacts to recreations of noted treasures and documents.
