The next time Ebisu starts to feel a bit staid, wander up Meiji-Dori in the Shibuya direction and alight at this two-floor bar, where DJs and an underground vibe bring to mind the kind of place you might find in hipster strongholds like Nakameguro and Shimokitzawa. Zubar's premises were previously used as a storage facility, which has now been divided into a ground-floor DJ area and an old-fashioned tatami-mat room upstairs. You can catch DJ events there most nights of the week (check the online event schedule for details), and drinks start at a reasonable ¥500, with no table charge.
