As soon as the clock rings at midnight and the new year begins, Asakusa's Sensoji Temple opens up for this special prayer ceremony, which continues until the evening of January 7. Take the opportunity to purchase special charms and arrows intended to boost your luck in everything from love to studies. The temple grounds and the Nakamise shopping street in front of Sensoji itself are decorated beautifully to welcome all visitors.
