Gekikara ('super-spicy') goodies are the focus at the second edition of this eye-watering food festa taking place over two weeks in Kabukicho. The amount of participating restaurants has been boosted from last year, forcing the organisers to divide the event into two parts. The first phase will feature representatives like Kanda's Mandala, winner of the 2012 Kanda Curry Grand Prix, as well as Thai, Vietnamese and Mexican eateries, while Part Two sees Jinbocho's Ethiopia and a host of popular Korean joints take over. Ramen fiends will be happy to hear that spicy noodle masters Nakamoto will be present for both parts.
