Review

One of the region’s major fine art museums, this Tange Kenzo-designed building is set on a prime, tree-lined plaza in Minatomirai. Abundant light pours in through a huge skylight above the courtyard in the centre of the entrance hall. To the right of the court, temporary exhibitions range from Leonardo da Vinci to contemporary artist Nara Yoshitomo. To the left there are regularly changing exhibitions drawn from the permanent collection of European, American and Japanese modern art and photography.
