Well known for its hostels, Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro attempts to depart from the ‘backpacker’ image to something a bit less transient and service orientated. Private rooms are fitted with their own bathrooms (complete with shower/bath), TV and LAN internet access. Budget options are fitted with bunk-beds with shared single-sex bathroom and shower facilities on each floor. A well-equipped common kitchen/lounge is provided those who fancy cooking their own. The lobby also hosts an Internet café with affordable Internet service, as well as free WiFi for patrons bringing their own computers. The 24-hour café offers a simple breakfast fare, as well as café dishes like pasta and vegetable plates. An extensive selection of world beers, cocktails, snacks, international appetizer menu and refills on coffee and tea are also available. Indoor seating fills up quick in inclement weather, however the terrace has ample seating.
Transport Ikebukuro station (Yamanote, Saikyo, Marunouchi, Yurakucho, Fukutoshin, Seibu Ikebukuro, Tobu-Tojo lines), west exit.
