One Love Jamaica Festival 2012

Sat May 19 - Sun May 20, 2012 Yoyogi Park

Time Out says

As Jamaica gears up to mark the 50th anniversary of its independence this August, Tokyo's own celebration of Jah and Robert Nesta Marley promises to have an even more celebratory vibe than usual – and that's saying something. The two-day One Love Jamaica Festival in Yoyogi Park is a colourful riot of reggae, dub and dance-offs, complete with jerk chicken so tasty that people are prepared to wait upwards of half an hour just to try some. And as an added bonus, the iffiest part of the event – in which Japanese musicians murder cover songs by Bob Marley – has been excised from the schedule this year.
