Ikebukuro's Sunshine City and the surrounding area gets a distinctly Okinawan flavour during this 10-day event featuring traditional dances and gigs by up-and-coming artists from Japan's southernmost prefecture, as well as plenty of food stalls selling treats like Okinawan soba and sata andagi doughnuts. The stage performances will take place at Sunshine City's Fountain Square, while the aquarium and planetarium inside the complex will also hold Okinawa-themed events. If you're keen on learning some eisa (traditional dance) moves, make sure to join the free demonstration/class on June 1.
