Namiyoke Inari Shrine Harvest Festival

Sat Nov 23, 2013 Namiyoke Inari Shrine

Time Out says

Namiyoke Inari Shrine, located in Ishikawa prefecture’s Tsurugimachi, celebrates its ceremonial rice planting on May 6, and the ceremonial harvest on August 26. The new rice harvested from the shrine field is then used to make an offering to the gods during a festival. After this, the rice is used to make Namiyoke sake, which in June of the following year is presented at a grand festival, along with a 300-bottle limited edition of nigori sake. At this event, taking place at Tsukiji's Namiyoke Inari Shrine, visitors can savour that rare beverage for free. Friends of sake are advised not to miss this opportunity.
