A top sushi restaurant in a traditional Gion machiya is never going to be cheap, but at least this place is welcoming and worth the outlay. You won’t get bowls of soy sauce here - the chef serves his delicacies just as they are intended to taste. An ¥8,000 makase course comprises 14 pieces of the chef’s choice, including some unique creations.
