You’ll want a window seat here. With Mount Arashi in the background and the Togetsu Bridge stretching across the Oi in the foreground, the view is wonderful. The food’s not bad either: home-made buckwheat noodles, served hot or cold, followed by buckwheat-flavoured desserts. Try the Nishin soba, a Kyoto speciality of noodles in a hot broth, topped with smoked herring. There’s also an English menu.
