The main branch of Il Ghiottone is famously booked up weeks in advance. In 2008, chef Sasajima opened this casual, riverside cucineria and keeps several tables for walk-ins. Like the main branch, the cucineria serves top- grade Italian dishes with a Kyoto twist, and these days you’re more likely to find the celebrated chef here than at the ever-popular original branch.
