You probably didn’t come to Kyoto for rococo European architecture, but the style of this former home of a tobacco baron is a hit with locals, and has been designated a historical landmark. Today it houses a pair of restaurants (Italian and French) and a cafe, but the most fun is taking afternoon tea in the salon (¥3,000, minimum of two people).
