Located in Gion Shijo, Waibya Koreikido specialises in yakitori (grilled skewers). Supplied by a proprietary poultry house in the Oyama Mountains of Tottori prefecture, the chickens’ feed, water and and rearing method and environment are all of paramount importance for the specially bred Wabi-dori, Akita Hina-dori and Nagoya Cochin domestic chickens and Satsuma Shamo chickens that Wabiya uses all available to be eaten on kushi (skewers), tataki style (lightly grilled but rare on the inside) and in nabe hotpot. To accompany your meal, enjoy one of the 150 varieties of shochu Japanese spirits. Wabiya is open for lunch featuring stone-cooked oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl), and yakitori. Counter seats as well as horigotatsu (sunken) tables and four private rooms are available.
