The speciality here is sumashi, a one-of-a-kind nouveau ramen garnished with quirky ingredients such as mozzarella cheese, deep-fried burdock and thick chunks of smoky bacon. However, it’s the soup that’s the speciality here: 15 chefs spent 45 days developing the recipe, which is laboriously built a la consomme. There are six additional branches of Takaraya in the area, but only this one serves the sumashi. Hungry diners can order a side dish of rice, complete with raw egg, cucumber and kelp.

I ate here last month while visiting Kyoto. The specialty "sumashi" ramen was absolutely delicious, especially after drinking all night. Thanks Time Out
