Review

This small room was originally the tearoom of the adjoining Yoshikawa ryokan, but became a tempura shop in the 1950s. Customers sit round a counter while chef Satoru Okita holds court, frying outstanding seafood and vegetables. There are various sets, but you’d need to have a hearty appetite not to be sated by the smallest (¥6,000).
