Sleepy Northern Higashiyama is the last place you’d expect to find a trendy cafe hosting avant-garde art shows, DJ sets and live music. Even odder is the fact it was founded by a local Indian restaurant (hence the curries and lassis on the menu). Nevertheless, this is one of the hipper hangouts in Kyoto, and has been for a decade.
