On shelf from June 30, 2015, the launch issue of Time Out Tokyo magazine in Chinese will be available across Tokyo as well as in mainland China and Taiwan. Our first venture into the Chinese-language market shines the spotlight on shopping in this great city of ours, with a rundown of the 100 best stores in Tokyo, from fashion and homewares to books and music. It's your ultimate guide to finding great deals all over the city, from Shibuya to Ginza and beyond.
Two editions are available, both with the same content: the yellow cover is the Traditional Chinese version, while readers of Simplified Chinese will want to pick up the orange-covered mag.
Although shopping tends to be one of the more popular pursuits for Chinese-speakers visiting Tokyo, just running around retail outlets won't give you the complete city experience. That's why we've also included plenty of useful info on everything from restaurants and bars to art and cultural events. Here's a taste of what's in store:
Izakaya or tachinomi? How to tell the boozers apart
Top five station bento boxes
How to survive an okonomiyaki joint
Finest coffee shops in Tokyo
Best bars with a view
Essential art exhibits in summer and autumn
City escapes
...and much more – everything you need for a successful tour of Tokyo.
The Chinese version of Time Out Tokyo magazine is free and will be distributed in mainland China and Taiwan, plus at airports, hotels, tourist information centres, train stations, shops, cafés and restaurants in Tokyo.
