They like their curry in Asagaya. As in, really like it. Every few months, staff from the area's cafés, bars and ramen shops rally together for a group cook-off, where ¥1,000 gets you all the curry you can scoff. There are two sessions on Sunday afternoon, and be warned that we're talking Japanese-style curry here, so if you've got a craving for some daal and gobi masala, you might be left wanting. The participants this time around include Volver, Mad Hog Kitchen and O-Denbar, plus a few representatives from shops in nearby Koenji.
