Over 200,000 people turned up last year to this celebration of African culture, in which visitors can get their hair braided, learn Ethiopian and Senegalese dance or get a quick lesson in the art of polyrhythms. This year's headliner is Malian keyboardist and composer Cheick Tidiane Seck, who has played with musicians as diverse as Fela Kuti, Carlos Santana and Joe Zawinul over the years, while Japanese nyatiti player Anyango, Malian string player Mamadou Doumbia and Guinean griotte Nyama Kante are also due to appear. Naturally, there'll be booths selling African food and clothing, as well as representatives from embassies and NGOs.
