Saturday June 19 sees Japan once again in a World Cup face off. With Keisuke Honda’s dramatic goal in the first match of the Group E series garnishing Japan’s win, get ready to move on to the next opponent: number four FIFA ranked team, Holland.

Holland have the requisite experience, right up there with power-teams like Brazil and Argentina, especially on offense. With this kind of ball controlling potential, expect to see an exciting match for ‘Clockwork Orange’, who are aiming right for the top. With power-shooter Robin van Persie and the precision passing power of Wesley Sneijder, the Dutch team are sure to make a strong effort. One noticeable factor will be an injury at the heart of the team with Arjen Robben having pulled a hamstring in a warm-up game against Hungary before their June 14 first group match against Denmark. This just may be Japan’s opportunity to get in some goals.

Time Out Café & Diner will be hosting Junichi Inamoto fan club president and the music industry’s most rabid football fan Takuya (ex. Judy and Mary), soccer freaks 175R’s Shogo and Isakick, as well as Star Soccer Editor-in-Chief and Musica magazine founder Atsushi Shikano for this public viewing for music fans, football obsessives and anyone else who wants to come out and support their favourite team.

Tickets are sold out, but you can share your cheers and words of support on Twitter. Simply add the hashtag ‘#liquidwcpv’ after your tweet and your message will show up special ‘Message to the Pitch’ (cast.timeout.jp/) website. On Saturday June 19, the messages will be broadcasted over the monitors at Time Out Café & Diner during the game.

What’s more, add your tweets of support for your team and be a part of the World Cup fever running high at the public viewing, and from among the messages, we’ll be choosing some lucky winners during the match. Prizes include a drawing for five pairs of invitations to Liquidroom’s Thursday June 24 public viewing of the Japan vs Demark match, as well as drawings for items from Adidas for three lucky winners.

Winners will be notified via a direct message from the Time Out Tokyo Twitter accounts, so be sure to follow the @TimeOutTokyoJP and @TimeOutTokyo Twitter feeds.

Japan vs Holland kicks off at 8.30pm on Saturday, June 19 2010. Expect an exciting game, whether at the public viewing or tweeting from your favourite pub.

After the public viewing, expect to party all night long at After the Game, taking place at Liquid Loft on the second floor of Liquidroom. Football loving DJs and playing Winning Eleven on the monitors as you like is the name of the game at this after party which is all any fan could ask for. Catch Denmark go up against Cameroon while you’re at it.
