It was the biggest and best one yet: a party fuelled with free saké, DJ sets by some of Tokyo's most distinguished spinners, and performances that ranged from easygoing reggae to a quite extraordinary display of dominatrix-style hoop dancing (no, we didn't realise such a thing existed either). At one point in the evening, it felt like half of the capital had turned up to help us celebrate the third anniversary of our Time Out Café & Diner in Ebisu – and we wouldn't have had it any other way. Harajuku luminary Yasumasu Yonehara was on hand to shoot instant-photo portraits of the crowd – and raise money for charity at the same time – while fellow snapper Jesper Haynes used the opportunity to unveil a saucy new exhibition of his own. And then there was the guest appearance by a certain well-known feline...
