Yokohama Oktoberfest 2012 Spring

Among the many Japanese incarnations of Munich's famous beer festival, the Yokohama Oktoberfest has traditionally stuck closest to the timetable of its Teutonic forefather. But with the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse complex where it's held celebrating the 10th anniversary of its renovation, apparently the prospect of waiting until September for this orgy of suds and sauerkraut was too much to bear. This (possibly one-off) spring edition of the Yokohama Oktoberfest will run between April 27 and May 6, making it a prime destination for Golden Week boozing – and if last autumn's was anything to go by, you can expect around 70 varieties of beer to choose from.
