Fri Aug 21 - Sun Aug 23, 2015 Institut Franco-Japonais

Time Out says

The Institut Franco-Japonais at Iidabashi continues its Weekend Cinema series with an in-depth look at director Robert Bresson (1901-1999), praised for his influence on the New Wave movement and on fellow auteurs from Tarkovsky to Jim Jarmusch. Three films will be screened over three August days: Bresson's colour debut A Gentle Woman (1969), poetic drama L'Argent (1983), which also turned out to be his last production, and 1959's Pickpocket, loosely based on Crime and Punishment and praised as the director's most complete creation.

Note that all films will be shown with Japanese subtitles only.
