Running and snacking on sugary treats tend to cancel each other out in terms of health effects, so this somewhat mind-boggling Chiba bash seems like the perfect event for those who want to exercise without losing weight: on the day, 5km and 10km running routes will be lined with stalls handing out free sweets ranging from puddings to chocolate, ensuring that participants' energy levels stay high throughout. Relay racing is allowed and costume-wearing is encouraged. On the other hand, if you're the kind of person who doesn't like to work hard for a reward, check out the food stall section and simply shop for your favourite treats. Runners need to sign up by October 16.
