Pithiness is a virtue in Future Shorts, the London-born touring film festival where many of the flicks clock in at under 10 minutes. The latest program includes Just Before Losing Everything (2013), French director Xavier Legrand's Oscar-nominated story about a family on the run from domestic abuse, and Life's a Bitch (2013), a five-minute expose of everything from toothpaste to squirrels, by Canadian creator François Jaros. You'll also be able to view pieces from Spain, Australia and the UK. Films are screened with both English and Japanese subtitles – make sure to email makiko@e06.itscom.net for advance reservations.
