Esteemed Uji-based tea supplier Koyamaen has been cultivating fine tea since the 17th century, but it took until 2008 to establish a store in Kyoto. The backstreet location enhances the mellow atmosphere, as customers sip freshly milled matcha in a smart, modern salon or traditional tearoom.
