Review

Tokyo's Puppet Theatre Puk (or La Pupa Klubo, as they prefer to be known) has been in operation as an artistic community since 1929, despite being mercilessly hounded by authorities during the war. It has since flourished to count 80 puppeteers in its membership, and its regular performances — held in the group's charming Shinjuku theatre, complete with miniature furniture and stage (everything the ideal size for a puppet) — are popular with adults and kids alike. The performance schedule and tickets are available via the group's website, uploaded in both Japanese and English.
