Tokyo Marathon hot hotel deals

Tokyo Marathon 2011

An event of this size brings with it certain luxury perks, including a selection of marathon-themed packages at some of the city's well-to-do hotels.

Hotel New Otani Runners' Stay
The perfect package for runners, the stay includes vouchers for "Runners Satellite Joglis", a luxury changing and showering location situated along the Imperial Palace jogging route (sacred amongst Tokyo's running community). The "Light Plan" includes the room charge for one night, breakfast, Joglis vouchers, as well as the tax and service fee. With the "Deluxe Plan", you can stay in an upgraded room with a wide bathroom, and enjoy all the pleasures of the Light Plan, plus a 50-minute massage in your room and a laundry service for your running gear. You barely need to lift a limb (once the marathon is run, of course).
The Light Plan starts from 20,000 yen per person per night; The Deluxe, from 30,000 yen per person per night. Click here for more info on Hotel New Otani

Conrad Tokyo: Stay, Run & Eat
The package is supported by Adidas, and is based on charismatic physical trainer James Shuichi Nakano's three principles: exercise, nutrition, rest. Aside from staying in one of the hotel's large, luxury rooms, the package includes the opportunity to run on six tailor-made courses across Tokyo, a balanced and nutritious meal at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, China Blue, and an in-room recovery treatment regularly used by top athletes. Treat yourself to the ultimate in luxury following your Tokyo Marathon success.
The package costs 71,000 yen for a single room, per night; 50,000 per person per night based on a double occupancy stay. Click here for more info on the Conrad Tokyo

Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka, Runners' 2010-2011 package
The Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka offers a package that includes the free use of ASICS running gear. There are plenty of lush, green running courses around the hotel, including the Imperial Palace route, or Shimizudani Park. The running gear is hygroscopic and dries quickly, and the shoes are shock-proof, which is great for your knees. It's unlikely that a marathon runner would forget his running stuff, so this is the perfect package for forgetful athletes.
The Runners' package starts from 15,000 yen per person per night, including breakfast. For more info on the Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka, click here

Ours Inn Hankyu
This large business hotel is in Shinagawa ward and takes pride in both its cheap price and its well-located bathtub (the view is fantastic). It's located in front of Ooimachi station, so if you use Rinkai line, you can get to the Tokyo Marathon starting point in 20 minutes, and come back from the finishing line in ten minutes. The runners of Tokyo Marathon 2011 will get a voucher to use the big bath after the race, even if you stayed the day before and have already checked out. Just imagine soaking in that big bath before most other runners have even made it home. Cheeky bliss.
