Celebrating concise cinema since 1999, the Short Shorts Film Festival offers a chance for new and established filmmakers to show their latest work, in an area that's too often overlooked by cinemagoers. The three main sections of the competition are devoted to Japanese, Asian and international shorts, though there are also prizes up for grabs for categories including CG shorts and global warming-themed flicks. Keep an eye out for Atsushi Wada's The Great Rabbit, which snagged the Silver Bear at this year's Berlin International Film Festival, as well as screenings of some of the shorts nominated in this year's Academy Awards. There's a complete list of films available on the Short Shorts official website, nearly all of which will be screened with English subtitles.
