Following last month's Aliens Made in Japan, the second edition of this delightful all-night program at Ikebukuro's Shin-Bungeiza takes up the theme of cyborgs through screenings of four Ishiro Honda creations: Half Human (1955), Frankenstein Conquers the World (1965), The War of the Gargantuas (1966) and Latitude Zero (1969). The last one of these is a particular highlight: a Japan-US co-production, the movie was shot in English, with Akira Takarada and other Japanese actors having memorised their lines phonetically.
