During the conservative Edo period, Yokohama was a forerunner in opening its port to the world, whereas the port of Edo Tokyo became the centre of economic development in the period after the Great Kanto Earthquake. Dig through old paintings, photographs and maps of these two ports at The Museum of Yokohama Urban History - a great opportunity to learn about the ports that shaped today's bustling city.
