Shinbashi Dori is one of Kyoto’s most romantic streets, lined with quaint wooden buildings, some built with windows revealing the geishas entertaining inside. The area is also an inscrutable place, with few establishments announcing their business on signs, which means that most visitors just stroll through. One place at which you will get a warm welcome is this cute bar, which opened in 2008, with English-speaking bartenders, decent cocktails and a second-floor lounge.
