Ogawa Coffee

Ogawa is one of Japan’s classic coffee shops, predating Seattle’s mega chain by 19 years. In the last decade it has been upstaged by the foreigners, but it still makes better coffee, as shown by Akihiro Okada of this Sanjo branch, who won the Japan Barista Championship in 2008. Since his triumph, Okada has been touting his talent on nationwide tours, but still brews here each Friday.
