Museum of Kyoto

A former branch of the Bank of Japan, the building is arguably more impressive than its exhibits and has limited English signage. But the museum is worth a look for its models and audio-visual guides to the city’s 1,200-year history. It also screens classic Japanese movies on a daily basis.
