The decor is so dazzling that it’s hard to focus on the clothes at this gargantuan boutique. Design elements include about 60 chandeliers suspended from a 9m-high ceiling, gilt-framed mirrors galore, live chipmunks, old bathtubs, Elvis-bust fountains and vintage ravioli cans. Somewhere in the middle of it all is a wide range of new and used clothing that is popular with Kyoto’s hip twentysomethings. Across the street, a branch of the Wego chain offers similar clothing in the shell of an old cinema.
